峨眉山 (Emei Shan)

I thought it would be a whole year before I get to see snow again, but I saw it way sooner than expected. A few friends and I took a weekend to go to Emei Shan which is two and a half hours away from Chengdu by bus. This trip consisted of being spiritual and walking the same path the monks of old walked on and feeling their energy grow inside of us. Just kidding. But the history of this place is quite interesting. We were very lucky on this trip because the weather treated us nicely. The first day was snowing and the second day was pretty clear. There were a bunch of Chinese tourists walking up the snow covered stairs in high heels and dress shoes. All I could do was laugh as they slipped and slid onto their butts. Check out the pictures below.

Monkey band makes its first debut on Emei Shan, but these guys were seriously pretty hilarious. All they did was eat, and when no one gave them food they would cling onto tourists and start trying to open their bags. Bunch of brats living off Chinese tourism.

Night of the first day, and we wanted to stay in this area.

Snake rice wine anyone? It was better than it looked, but I'm still wondering why I drunk some.

Morning of the next day, we started our hike up the stairs. Took me an hour to find these darn stairs, and no one knew where the heck they were. It turns out they were just behind the temple.

We were late because we spent an hour trying to find the stairs. No big deal though.

An interesting piece.

At the top, the sunrise was beautiful.

Me and Bhutan (that's not his name, but we call him Bhutan).

A temple on that peak over there, of course we were not going to walk that far after all of those stairs.

The English translations on all these signs were hilarious, don't think they had a single one that made sense. There was one that said 'Tourist Export,' like... what do you mean? We just arrived and you want to send us out already?

Just ask me, I'll do it for free.

We took the cable car back down, it was quite the view too.

More monkey pictures. Just you know... let me lick my yam (or whatever that thing is).

Alex (dude holding the GoPro) loved doing these GoPro selfies. This was at the top.

This one was pretty funny. Bhutan's expression though. We were supposed to take a selfie, I was all ready and crap, and then they decided to throw snow into our faces. Yup, I didn't even notice.
