Random Photos on my Phone

Some random photos I took to show you my life in Chengdu.

Classroom everyday 8:30 to 12 (I actually sit in the front, just here to take a photo)

A super shiny bridge next to our campus. I'm not a huge fan of the wasteful light, but it is pretty.

Having the famous hotpot with friends. I really enjoyed it if it wasn't for the next few days of 拉肚子 (diarrhea).

Someone wanted me to post every meal I eat, but I always forget to take a photo... until, of course, I've already finished. Some 烧烤, they're quite good and tasty especially during a night of drinking.

Temple on Chunxi Road. It was, like many ancient things, destroyed during the cultural revolution. They rebuilt it, but it probably lost a lot of its original amazingness.

Originally built in the Tang Dynasty with connections to the famous Monkey King story, or so I have heard.

You can see a whole bunch of skyscrapers in the background. This temple is in the middle of a huge shopping center in the heart of Chengdu. It's quite amazing just seeing the mix.

The things I eat usually have a ton of oil. This was quite nice and reminded me of home.

Ohhh western-style toilets at a Starbucks. I actually hate these things now as ironic as that sounds. I really do prefer squatting toilets over these. The reasons for that is that squatting is fast because you don't have a chance to play on your phone, and it you don't get splashes of cold water on your butt.

I laughed so hard on this one. Just imagine... an old lady squatting on the toilet seat and then slipping and breaking her back. Oh my lord. It's screwed up, I know, but come on... be careful guys.

More hotpot photos. It reminds me of Korean BBQ... pay a lot just to cook your own food.
I'm just kidding, it's good!

Whichever day it is... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Spend it here drinking and playing pool. I'm just kidding, only Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Surprisingly good and simple. Also, not too much oil.

Oh man. Tennis. Tennis. Tennis. It's like once every week. These dirt courts are fun to slide in though.

Noodles are last resort. Cheap and amazing. I can eat noodles everyday and not get tired of it.

  3. Western-style toilets are very common in Chinese family, while the squatting toilets are usually equipped in some public places, since it is more convenient for places with large population. Some senior office buildings have the western-style toilets as well. BTW, I played my phone on squatting toilets of my college for almost six years; and I believe most of Chinese college students are able to do this. Since you have another half year in China, you should equip yourself with this basic survival skill as well. LOL :)
